Battery Terminal Cleaning

Corrosion on battery terminals, that white or greenish powder around the posts, acts like a partly open switch and can stop a good battery starting the car. This service removes the corrosion from posts, clamps and cable ends, repairs or replaces clamps that have been damaged, and protects the connections afterwards. It will not restore a battery that has already failed internally, so the battery is tested before and after the cleaning.

Disconnect and clean
Cables are removed in the correct order and posts, clamps and cable ends are cleaned back to bright metal.
Repair what is damaged
Clamps that have cracked, stretched or lost their grip are replaced rather than tightened further onto a worn post.
Reconnect and protect
Connections are torqued correctly, coated with protective grease, and the starting and charging voltages are rechecked.
