Computerized Inspection
Also called computer scanning of the car
A computerised inspection reads every control module in the car, not just the engine, and reports stored and pending fault codes along with live readings. It finds faults that have not yet lit a warning lamp, and shows where codes have recently been cleared. A scan reports what the car's own systems have recorded. It is not a mechanical inspection, and it will not detect worn suspension, a leaking gasket or accident repair.
