Also called radiator fan not working
The electric fan pulls air through the radiator when the car is not moving fast enough to do it naturally. If the fan motor, relay, fuse, temperature sensor or wiring fails, the temperature climbs in traffic and drops again once you are moving. This repair restores that airflow. It will not solve overheating that continues at motorway speed, which points at coolant flow, the radiator core or the thermostat instead.
Signs you need this
- Temperature rises in traffic and falls when driving
- Fan never audibly runs, even when the engine is hot
- Fan runs constantly from the moment the engine is started
- AC cooling gets poor at idle while the engine warms up
- Rattling or scraping sound from the fan area
- Blown fan fuse that keeps failing
Not all of these have to be present, and one of them on its own can mean something else entirely. That is what the diagnosis is for.

How we do it
Watch it warm up
The engine is brought to temperature and the fan is observed with the AC both off and on.
Test the circuit
Fuse, relay, sensor and wiring are tested, since these cost far less than a fan assembly.
Test the motor
Power is applied directly to the motor to confirm whether the fault is the fan itself.
Repair and confirm
The failed part is replaced, then the car is idled until the fan cycles correctly at temperature.
