Engine Mount Replacement
Also called engine mounting change
Engine mounts hold the engine and gearbox to the body and absorb their vibration. The rubber perishes and the hydraulic type leaks, so vibration reaches the cabin and the engine rocks enough to thud on gear changes. Broken roads in Rawalpindi and Islamabad shorten mount life. Replacing the failed mount removes that vibration and protects nearby pipes and wiring from being chafed. It does not cure a rough-running engine, an unbalanced wheel, or a worn clutch, all of which can feel similar.
Signs you need this
- Strong vibration through the seat or steering at idle, easing as you drive
- A thud or clunk when you select gear, pull away, or brake hard
- The engine visibly lifts or rocks when you blip the accelerator
- Cracked, split or oil-wet rubber visible on a mount
- Vibration through the gear lever that was not there before
Not all of these have to be present, and one of them on its own can mean something else entirely. That is what the diagnosis is for.
What the job includes
- Inspection of every engine and gearbox mount with the engine loaded in gear
- Identification of which mounts have actually failed, not blanket replacement
- Engine supported safely while mounts are changed
- New mounts fitted and bolts torqued with the engine settled in position
- Check of surrounding pipes and wiring for chafe damage
- Road test over a rough surface to confirm the vibration is gone
How we do it
Confirm the source
Vibration can come from the engine itself, so we check running quality first before condemning any mount.
Load test the mounts
With the car held, the engine is loaded forward and back in gear while each mount is watched for excess movement.
Support and replace
The engine is supported, the failed mounts are removed, and new ones are fitted without straining the remaining ones.
Torque and align
Bolts are tightened with the engine at its resting position, so the new rubber is not preloaded and does not tear early.
Road test the car
A drive including rough surface and hard gear changes confirms the clunk and vibration are actually gone.
How we work
The same on every job, which is why we can write it down.
Diagnosis before quote
We find the fault first. A price given over the phone for a noise nobody has heard is a guess.
The price is agreed first
You approve the work and the cost before a spanner is picked up. Extra work means another call.
Parts you can check
We tell you whether a part is genuine, OEM, aftermarket or used, and what each one costs.
Old parts returned
Ask and we will hand back whatever we replaced. It is the simplest proof that the job was done.
Book engine mount replacement
Fill this in and a person will call you back to confirm the time and the price. Only your name and one way to reach you are required.
You send this
Takes a minute. No payment, no obligation.
We call you
To confirm the car, the time and the location.
Tell us the car and the symptom
We will arrange a mechanic at your location, or a slot at the nearest workshop. No payment until the price is agreed.
