Oil Change
Also called oil change
An oil change drains the old engine oil, replaces the oil filter and refills with the grade your engine was designed for. Oil thins and gets contaminated with use, and Islamabad summers and stop-start city traffic shorten its life further. Doing it on time protects engine life more than any other routine job. It does not repair existing damage, quieten a worn engine, or stop an oil leak, and thicker oil to hide a noise only delays the real diagnosis.
Signs you need this
- The service interval by kilometres or months has been reached
- Oil on the dipstick is black, thin or smells burnt
- Oil pressure or oil can warning light appears briefly at idle
- The engine sounds noisier than usual on a cold start
- You do not know when the oil was last changed
Not all of these have to be present, and one of them on its own can mean something else entirely. That is what the diagnosis is for.
What the job includes
- Drain of used engine oil and replacement of the sump plug washer
- New oil filter fitted and seated with a light oil film
- Refill with the grade and quantity specified for your engine
- Level check on a level surface after the engine has run
- Quick visual check for leaks while the car is up
- Service sticker or note of date and odometer reading
How we do it
Confirm grade and quantity
We check the maker's specification for your engine, including whether it needs a mineral, semi synthetic or fully synthetic oil.
Drain warm oil
The engine is warmed so the oil flows out fully and carries more suspended contamination with it.
Fit a new filter
The old filter is removed, the sealing face is cleaned, and the new filter is fitted with a fresh gasket.
Refill and check level
Oil is added to specification, the engine is run briefly, then the level is rechecked and the plug area inspected for seepage.
