Also called electric car fault checking
EV diagnostics reads the battery management, drive motor, charging and twelve volt systems on a fully electric car and reports what is failing. It covers charging faults, reduced range complaints, drive fault codes and isolation warnings. It is diagnosis: many EV repairs need brand-specific parts and software that are limited here, and where that is the case we say so and refer you rather than opening a high-voltage system experimentally.
Signs you need this
- Car refuses to charge or stops charging part way
- Range dropped noticeably without a change in driving
- Warning light with reduced power or a turtle symbol
- Car will not switch to ready or drive
- Charging cable or port getting unusually hot
Not all of these have to be present, and one of them on its own can mean something else entirely. That is what the diagnosis is for.

Isolation and insulation checks are done under procedure, because this system can injure or kill if handled casually.
