Fluid Top-Up & Check
Also called oil and water check
A fluid check measures the level and condition of every fluid your car depends on: engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, clutch fluid, power steering fluid, transmission fluid where checkable, and washer fluid. It is a short job worth doing before a long drive or in peak summer. Topping up is not a repair. If a level is low, something has used or lost it, and we will say so and recommend the check needed rather than simply filling it again.
Signs you need this
- You are about to drive to Murree, Lahore or another long trip
- A fluid warning light has appeared on the dashboard
- You have seen a drip or stain under the parked car
- The brake pedal or clutch pedal feels different from usual
- The temperature gauge has been reading higher than normal
Not all of these have to be present, and one of them on its own can mean something else entirely. That is what the diagnosis is for.
What the job includes
- Engine oil level and condition checked on level ground
- Coolant level checked cold, with the concentration and cap condition noted
- Brake and clutch fluid level and colour checked, moisture tested where possible
- Power steering and transmission fluid checked where a dipstick exists
- Washer fluid topped and the visible leak points inspected
- Advice on any level that is dropping and needs investigation
How we do it
Park level and cool
Levels are only meaningful on flat ground with the engine at the right temperature, so we set the car up properly first.
Check each reservoir
Every fluid is checked for level, colour and smell, since condition often matters more than level alone.
Top up correctly
Only the correct specification is added, because mixing coolant types or brake fluid grades causes its own damage.
Explain any losses
If a level was low we tell you what normally causes that, and what we would check next rather than topping it repeatedly.
How we work
The same on every job, which is why we can write it down.
Diagnosis before quote
We find the fault first. A price given over the phone for a noise nobody has heard is a guess.
The price is agreed first
You approve the work and the cost before a spanner is picked up. Extra work means another call.
Parts you can check
We tell you whether a part is genuine, OEM, aftermarket or used, and what each one costs.
Old parts returned
Ask and we will hand back whatever we replaced. It is the simplest proof that the job was done.
