Oil Leak Repair
Also called engine oil leak
An oil leak repair starts with finding where the oil is really coming from. Oil travels along the engine and gearbox before it drips, so the wet patch underneath rarely marks the source. Common causes are the rocker cover gasket, the sump gasket or plug, the crankshaft and camshaft seals, and the oil filter housing. We clean, trace, then seal the specific joint. Fixing one leak does not mean another older seal elsewhere will not begin weeping later.
Signs you need this
- Dark patches on the driveway or parking spot
- Burning oil smell, especially after driving
- Smoke or haze from the engine bay when stopped at a signal
- Oil level dropping between services with no visible smoke from the exhaust
- Oily, dust-caked film down one side of the engine or gearbox
Not all of these have to be present, and one of them on its own can mean something else entirely. That is what the diagnosis is for.

- Degrease and clean of the suspected area so the fresh leak is visible
- Inspection on a ramp, with a dye trace where the source is unclear
- Replacement of the failed gasket, seal or washer
- Check of crankcase ventilation, since pressure build-up pushes seals out
- Oil level corrected and a second check after the car has run
- Clear explanation if more than one leak point is present
