Accident repair starts with stripping the damaged area to find out what actually happened, because impact damage travels further than it looks. It can involve pulling structural sections back to measurement, replacing panels, and refinishing, alongside checking steering, suspension and cooling parts in the impact path. Time and cost cannot be given honestly before strip-down. If airbags have deployed or the car will not steer straight, do not drive it in.
What the job includes
- Photographed strip-down and a written damage assessment before work starts
- Checking structural alignment and pulling sections back where needed
- Panel repair or replacement with correct gap and shut line alignment
- Inspection of steering, suspension, cooling and lighting in the impact path
- Refinishing, reassembly and a road test before handover
Signs you need this
- Visible collision damage to panels, bumper or lights
- Car pulls to one side or the steering wheel sits off centre after an impact
- Doors, bonnet or boot no longer close properly
- Coolant, oil or washer fluid leaking after the impact
- Warning lights that appeared immediately after the collision
Not all of these have to be present, and one of them on its own can mean something else entirely. That is what the diagnosis is for.

Everything is photographed before strip-down, which matters for your records and for any insurance claim you are making.
Strip and measure
Damaged assemblies come off and structural points are measured, because impact force carries well beyond the visible dent.
Agree the repair
You get the findings, the parts needed and a realistic timeline before any panel is cut or ordered.
Repair and refinish
Structure is pulled, panels repaired or replaced and aligned, then the affected area is primed, painted and blended.
Check and road test
Mechanical items in the impact path are checked, alignment reset if needed, and the car driven before handover.
