Complete Car Paint
Also called full body paint or repaint
A complete paint job strips the car of removable trim, prepares every panel back to a sound surface, corrects dents and rust found along the way, and sprays the whole body in one colour. It is chosen for faded, peeling or heavily scratched paint, or when changing colour. It takes days rather than hours because each stage must cure, and any bodywork discovered during preparation is quoted separately before it is done.
Signs you need this
- Lacquer peeling or flaking across the roof, bonnet or boot
- Colour faded unevenly from years in the sun
- Scratches and touch-ups across most panels
- Several older repairs that no longer match each other
- You want to change the car's colour
Not all of these have to be present, and one of them on its own can mean something else entirely. That is what the diagnosis is for.
What the job includes
- Removal of trim, handles, lights and seals rather than masking around them
- Sanding every panel back to a sound, level surface
- Treating any rust or dents found during preparation, agreed with you first
- Primer, base colour and lacquer applied and baked panel by panel
- Polishing and refitting of all trim, seals and fittings
How we do it
Inspect and plan
We walk every panel with you, note the rust and dents visible now, and explain what preparation may still uncover.
Strip and prepare
Trim and fittings are removed, panels sanded flat, and any bodywork found is agreed with you before it proceeds.
Prime and seal
Primer is applied and blocked back so the surface is true, because paint magnifies every flaw left underneath.
Spray and cure
Base colour and lacquer are sprayed in a controlled booth and baked, with time allowed between coats to cure properly.
Polish and rebuild
The finish is flatted and polished, then all trim, seals and lights are refitted and the car checked in daylight.
How we work
The same on every job, which is why we can write it down.
Diagnosis before quote
We find the fault first. A price given over the phone for a noise nobody has heard is a guess.
The price is agreed first
You approve the work and the cost before a spanner is picked up. Extra work means another call.
Parts you can check
We tell you whether a part is genuine, OEM, aftermarket or used, and what each one costs.
Old parts returned
Ask and we will hand back whatever we replaced. It is the simplest proof that the job was done.
