Breakdown assistance sends someone to where the car has stopped, to diagnose the problem and attempt a repair on the spot. Common roadside fixes are batteries, loose connections, fuses, belts, overheating and fuel problems. If the fault needs the car lifted, parts ordered or the engine opened, we stop and arrange recovery instead of guessing. If the car is in a live lane or anywhere unsafe, get clear of it and call rather than using the form.
Signs you need this
- Engine stopped while driving and will not restart
- Car will not crank or start at all
- Temperature gauge in the red and steam from the bonnet
- Warning light came on and the car lost power
- Loud noise followed by the car refusing to move
Not all of these have to be present, and one of them on its own can mean something else entirely. That is what the diagnosis is for.
