Emergency Mechanic
Also called mechanic bulwana at location
This sends a mechanic to you when the car has an urgent fault but has not necessarily stopped completely: overheating, a warning light with power loss, a belt squealing badly, a leak forming under the car. The aim is to make the car safe, either by repairing it there or by deciding it must not be driven. It is not a substitute for workshop diagnosis on faults that need a lift or specialist equipment.
Signs you need this
- Warning light on with obvious loss of power
- Temperature climbing while you are still driving
- New fluid puddle under the car after stopping
- Loud squeal or grinding that started suddenly
- Smoke or a burning smell from the engine bay
Not all of these have to be present, and one of them on its own can mean something else entirely. That is what the diagnosis is for.
