Transmission Diagnosis
Also called gear problem checking
Transmission diagnosis establishes what is actually wrong before anyone removes a gearbox. We check fluid level and condition, read transmission fault codes and live data, road test to reproduce the complaint, and check the parts outside the gearbox that commonly cause the same symptoms: clutch, mounts, drive shafts and linkage. The result is a written finding and a quote. It is an investigation, not a repair, and it often saves the cost of an unnecessary overhaul.

Check fluid first
Level, colour and smell are checked at the correct temperature, because fluid explains a large share of complaints.
Scan and road test
Codes and live data are logged on the road in the exact conditions where you experience the problem.
Rule out external causes
Engine misfire, worn mounts, drive shafts and linkage are checked, as each can feel exactly like a gearbox fault.
